TPB 2005 Conversion Software?

Hi all. Is there anyone out there who can create a utility to import rosters from TPB 2005 to the new game? Before the game came out, a couple of people said they would do it, but I know julesbravo had to back out. Does anyone know someone who might want to create this utility?

short answer: no

If someone knew someone, it would be in the works already. I'm not holding out hope, but after thinking about it I won't be purchasing the game unless it comes out. I was a huge TPB fan and didn't think there was any way that I would not get the new one, but I can't give up on my old franchise that easily.

Qrashman - Export your TPB2005 league and send it to me. I can convert it to DDS:PB in a matter of minutes. I learned a bunch of tricks and shortcuts when I imported my roster to the game. I'm not sure what you mean by "export" but I assumed you meant zip up the league folder. If its not what you're looking for let me know. Also, I'm not sure where in the season it should be. This is 5 games into a season.

Either will work, but there's an export database function under the commissioner's screen, I was just looking for that file.

Okay, the players imported just fine and everything works in DDS:PB, however, because TPB2005 doesn't export historical stats, I couldn't import any past stats into DDS:PB. Also, because coaches have changed so much (things like player rotation, player preference, rebounding, ect..), it's really hard to import them to DDS:PB, so I left them on their defaults.

Other then those two things, everything works just fine. Here's the file, if you want to start before the draft just change "s_" to "p_".

Awesome, thanks for working on this. Stinks to hear that no historical stats can be imported. That's really weird. Historical stats are a big reason to have a "franchise".

Its a little disheartening to know that conversion isn't supported. Why put all the time into doing 10 seasons of a franchise and playing out every game if you're just gonna have to let it go when a new game comes out. I thought conversion was a "gimme", I didnt even look into it.

Yeah, I found it kind of odd myself. It actually exports the current season stats, just not anything before it.

Nephrinn, I think I will take you up on that offer too! But did you say that it keeps the stats of the current season? I'm halfway through my only season of TPB (I'm slow because of not much time). So your saying that if I finish my TPB season, then import it into the new game, that it will keep the season stats? Also, is there a way to continue my season in the new game, or do I have to finish it out first?

As long as you don't start another season (just after the championship game) then it should import that season's stats. You also must start either before the draft or after the draft, no way around that.

No, I meant you can only start that roster in DDS:PB before or after the draft. You can send either your TPB2005 save or export the .mdb at any time during the season or offseason.
