Expanding Leagues?

Has anyone figured out if you can Expand the size of your leagues throughout the years?

I'd like to start out with 16 and after each 5-10 years, bump up the # of teams to the next level.

If it's not possible, thats fine. I'm just wondering if anyone knows for sure if this can or cannot be done. Thanks!

Bryan, I thought Gary mentioned that there was a workaround for expansion.

I remember him writing something about having to export the league and then add the teams/players/coaches and then import the file back as a new game.

Am I way off base here? I searched for the post but I have not been able to find it yet. I'll keep looking and bump it when/if I find it.

I can't remember the name of the game, I think it was puresim baseball, that had an expansion option allowing you to partake in a league expansion. I think an expansion option would be a great option to add into next year's version. Go through the whole deal of the new team(s) doing the expansion draft and everything.

Yea Puresim has that option.

So does Out of the Park Baseball 2007 and Baseball mogul.

from what I can tell, mogul's version of expansion means that when doing a historical sim, when you get to a year that new teams were introduced into the league, they appear with a rookie-laden roster. there's still no expansion draft which you can operate or any way to expand the league manually

You could expand a team by manually exporting the league data and importing it into a new game using the extra team. Takes a little work, but it is possible to implement by yourself.
