I have seen multiple suggestions for chart notifications when your act reaches a certain number on the charts and have decided to implement it. I would like your opinion on exactly how, when, and why you should receive notifications

How; There are two options, receiving one e-mail listing for your acts chart positions for each territory or receiving multiple emails for each act for each territory?

When; If your act has already reached number one on the charts do you want to be notified if their record remains number one the next week or only when there position goes higher on the chart?

Why; What chart positions should merit notification, number ones, top 3s, or top 5s?

I think you should be told as soon as any act charts, then keep getting weekly updates with them.

I hope you also can get some flops that don't make the charts for new artists etc.

Getting weekly updates on what your artists are doing on the charts would make having the chart available to view kind of pointless. I would be annoyed with constant emails about "Your artists single slipped two spots on the chart this week and is now resting at #23."

I would rather notifications be kept to "Milestones." The single cracks the Top 100, moves into the Top 50, cuts it in half again and sneaks into the Top 25, Top 10, Top 5, #1. You would only receive these notices once per single. (Thus if one climbed into the Top 50, then fell down to 55, you wouldn't get another notice if it hopped back up to the Top 50) If you want to see if your single fell out of the Top 10, go check the charts. Though, a notice that your artists single fell completely off the chart might be a nice one too.

I say check the chart, but it should be made easy to tell where your artists singles are, and how they performed.

"#, # Last Week, Artist, Title" or "#, # moved up/down, Artist, Title"

The first column gives the current position, then the second column would be there to indicate the move the single made. Either by showing what position it was at the last week or showing how big/little it moved "↑ 13" or "↓ 5" for instance. (if there was no move, or it's a new single, it would have "—")

I might also suggest that your artists singles be bold, or a different color so that it would make checking the charts quick if you only wanted to see what one of your singles did and didn't want to study the entire chart. Bold or a different color would make them stand out in comparison to the others so you could quickly scan to find what you're looking for.

Although I agree that weekly updates regarding the artist's charting would become annoying, I like the idea of getting at least monthly updates regarding where our artists are doing on the charts. As I imagine it, the second Tuesday of each month would bring an email that updates us regarding all of our artists on the charts (e.g., "Usher's single, Yeah!, has fallen to #23 on the U.S. Singles Chart (#18 on the U.K. Singles Chart; #20 on the European Singles Chart; #9 on the Oceania Singles Chart). As you recall, the single was #12 on the U.S. Singles Chart (#12 on the U.K. Singles Chart; #16 on the European Singles Chart; #5 on the Oceania Singles Chart)at the time of our last report.") If we can have this rundown for all of our artists in the same email, I think that would be extremely user-friendly. There can even be a reminder in the email that more information regarding the single/album is available from reviewing the chart information (e.g., number of albums sold, profit from sales, critical reviews, predictions re sales trending up or down, etc.)

I also concur in making our artists more visible on the Charts.
