When you negotiate with artists....what do these "creative" options mean when you click them, and give them to the band?

Long time player but im not too sure myself, im thinking that the Act controls who produces and writes the songs and which studio they use - theres one way to find out, click and see lol.

Actually, I think it's more that artists control their own schedule. Not so much who produces, but when they work on song writing, how much they practice (and when they stop practicing) and stuff like that.

Creative Control refers to acts controlling how hard they work; and limits the levels you can set them. I think it was originally meant to be more than that but it turned out to be harder than thought to get it to work

I haven't used it yet but I'd guess maybe they get control over how much they spend on recording, or on their tours, or something related. I'm not 100% sure though

Creative control is a contract option that you decide in the contract meeting that allows an act to use their preferred resources level.
Expense control is a contract option that you decide in the contract meeting that gives an act no limits in how a label can spend for them.

I just tried this for the first time, and was able to record a band's first album at a really great studio. And when I booked his first tour I saw I could book ANY venue (though I wouldn't want to put an unpopular person in a huge venue, so I didn't). The only area it didn't affect was distribution (I was still limited by my label's size in that regard).
