Lesson learned......

I went into the .CRS file after I had completed my Pebble Beach course. I wanted to change one of the fields that was entered into the course description. I made the mistake of using Notepad to do that. Huge mistake. I lost the entire .CRS file and will have to totally recreate the course.

Just a FYI to you all so you don't make the same mistake. The .CRS file is not a flat file, it is a database file and you need to use something like Access to open it if you choose to do so.

Maybe Gary could take a look at that file if you still have it, LL. If anyone would know how to save it, he would.

I did take a look at it - saving it with word or wordpad corrupts the file because its no longer recognized as a database file. I tried to pull out anything I could but couldn't get anything but a bunch of jumbled characters

Agghh. I know nothing about file structures (although I bet that's pretty obvious). Sorry that it wasn't possible to save it.
