What Are Player Archetypes?

Player Archetypes are a brand-new way to define and experience the unique playing styles of athletes in DDS:PB26. In addition to existing elements like floor ranges (where players prefer to operate on the court) and ball actions (how they attack with or without the ball), Archetypes give each player a clear identity.

Think of it as a shortcut to understanding what makes a player tick. Is he a Slasher who relentlessly drives to the rim? A Deep Range Bomber who can stretch defenses with unlimited shooting range? Or maybe a Balanced all-around contributor who can fill multiple roles?

Why Archetypes Matter

For you, the General Manager, Archetypes add another layer of depth to roster construction. You’ll be able to:

• Quickly identify what kind of player you’re scouting, signing, or drafting.
• Build lineups with intent, pairing complementary archetypes together to maximize on-court chemistry.
• Plan your long-term strategy, knowing that rookies will now be generated in specific molds, bringing even more variety and realism to draft classes.
